MEL TORMÉ 100 PROJECT

Aimed at introducing Mel’s music and films to a brand new generation, while putting his seven decade career as a singer, songwriter, actor, drummer and author into perspective, the multi-faceted Mel Tormé 100 Project kicked off September 13th (Mel’s 100th) with five unforgettable sold out shows at Ronnie Scott’s in London. Back Stateside, celebrations will continue to honor Mel, with Tormé 100 concerts at several illustrious US venues and Holiday Symphony Pops concerts saluting the 80th Anniversary of Mel and Bob Well’s co-write, “The Christmas Song” (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) starring Mel’s youngest son, award-winning vocalist James Tormé and friends. The ‘Mel 100’ Project is also planning a brand new duets album, a documentary, and more.

I tell you, any singer that goes in to hear this guy sing has got to go out and cut his throat. He’s the the most fantastic musical performer I think we’ve ever had...
— Bing Crosby
“Mel was kind of a lifetime adolescent in a very positive sense, always being enthusiastic and hopeful and excited and willing to try anything. He worked himself too hard, but it wasn’t for the money. It was just because if folks wanted to spend an evening with Mel, he wasn’t going to deny them.”
— Harry Anderson
